Sandvik has confirmed it will acquire Verisurf Software Inc., a U.S.-based supplier of metrology software solutions for 3-D applications. The acquisition is aligned with Sandvik's metrology strategy to grow Sandvik's offering in industrial metrology and increase its digital manufacturing solutions for small and mid-sized manufacturers (SMEs).

Verisurf, located in Anaheim, California, provides software solutions to around 1,500 companies in sectors such as aerospace and defense. Their products are modular and easy to use and include modules for quality inspection, assembly guidance, and reverse engineering; all based on the Mastercam Design (CAD) platform.

Stefan Widing, President and CEO of Sandvik, stated that Verisurf would further strengthen the metrology capabilities at Sandvik and meet the demand for accurate measurement and quality assurance in manufacturing. He added that the acquisition was consistent with Sandvik's growth strategy and vision to create and sustain a robust digital manufacturing offering and comprehensive solutions to drive efficiency and productivity.

For the year 2024, Verisurf reports revenues of approximately SEK 130 million (USD 12 million) and has 44 FTEs. The impact on Sandvik in terms of EBITA margin and earnings per share is anticipated to be limited. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
